Sketchboarding Workshop

This is the output of a day of work that I did with a start up client, I call it 'sketchboarding' and use a similar approach to that described by the lovely people at Adaptive Path (ref: http://www.adaptivepath.com/ideas/sketchboards-discover-better-faster-ux...). I use this technique frequently, especially with start ups who often need me to swoop in and help them fix lots of stuff quickly. It has a lot of advantages including that it helps us to keep a fairly broad focus across the whole experience and flow of using their system rather than obsessing over small details in the UI (which tend not to be the problem for most start ups in my experience) and the collaborative approach means that more people in the team understand why we're doing it this way, increasing the overall design IQ of the organisation and helping them make better decisions for themselves in the future. Anyways, if it's not a technique you're familiar with, it's worth checking out - it's really just a combo of low fidelity journey mapping and wireframing so not rocket science, but you can accomplish a lot in a short time and it in my experience, clients really find it to be a valuable way to spend time/money on UX.
